Program

The school is in operation from September through May, five days a week with an optional three-week June program.

Learning takes place within a program that fosters all areas of children’s development (i.e., physical, social, emotional, spiritual, language, cognitive). Thus, every aspect of the program (including the daily schedule, the classroom itself, the materials, and all activities and routines) promotes children’s growth and learning.

Twos Program

There are three classes for Twos (two 3-day-a-week classes and one 2-day-a-week class).
M/W/F                 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
T/TH                    9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
T/W/TH               1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Threes Program

M-F                      9:00 a.m. – noon
M-F                      1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Young 4s Program

Children in the young four-year-old classes attend school from 9:00-12:00 Monday to Friday and have the option to sign up for Extended Day and stay until 2:30 Monday to Thursday.  Extended Day for this age group consists of lunchtime, a short rest period, and additional activity time and outdoor play.  Children signed up for Extended Day bring a nut-free lunch Monday to Thursday.  Enrichment activities that take place during Extended Day for Young 4’s include Movement, Spanish, and Storytelling.  Children in this age group who are not ready to start Extended Day in September can sign up later in the year with prorated tuition.

4s/5s Program

Children who will turn five during the school year attend school from 9:00-2:30 Monday to Thursday and 9:00 to 12:00 on Friday.
The longer program for this age group ensures ample time to dig deep into project work based upon the children’s interests while engaging in important skill development across all areas. Enrichment activities, including Art, Library, Movement, Music, Spanish and Storytelling are spread throughout the day, which allows increased time for the classroom curriculum and kindergarten preparedness to stay at the focus of the children’s experience. This age group brings a nut-free lunch Monday to Thursday.

Early Morning Drop-Off

We are pleased to offer Early Morning Drop-Off for families whose work schedule, child-care situation, or sibling drop-off at another school conflicts with drop-off time at Brick. EMDO begins at 8:00am and children must arrive by 8:20am to attend. Drop-off will be in the Garden, weather permitting, or Watson Hall if inclement weather.

June Program

The school operates a June Program which runs for the first three weeks in June from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is open to current students and Church members who are four or five years old. Activities include sprinklers and outdoor play, music and movement, games, cooking, arts and crafts, special projects, and activities guided by the children’s interests.
