Annual Appeal

Like nearly every leading independent school, The Brick Church School’s annual operating budget is only partially covered by tuition. In other words, the tuition that each family pays for their child to attend Brick only covers 83% of the cost of that education. For the 2020-21 school year, the “tuition gap” per student is $6,200. To help fund that gap, the School relies heavily on financial donations to the Annual Fund.

Gifts to the Annual Fund allow each and every student to benefit from small class sizes, dedicated faculty, a diverse student population, exciting professional development opportunities for our teachers, and student enrichment programs such as Spanish, music and movement, and art.

Brick’s fundraising goal for the 2020-2021 school year is $700,000, which includes individual contributions and company matches received from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. Contributions to the Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.

Why doesn’t tuition cover all of the School’s operating expenses?

As is the model in most independent schools, annual giving at Brick supplements tuition paid. This allows the School to guarantee the excellence of The Brick Church School experience while keeping tuition competitive with peer schools and making the school affordable to a wider range of students.

Who is asked to support the Annual Fund?

Parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, and friends of the School who are committed to the School’s mission. Since every Brick student benefits from the Annual Fund, every family is called upon to participate. Our goal is 100% parent participation. High participation in the Annual Fund is a strong indicator that our community supports and believes in our mission, and it is an affirmation of all of the work that our teachers do to educate our students.

How much should I give?

Every gift counts. Individual Annual Fund gifts range from $5 to $50,000. We encourage all parents to give according to their own financial situations. The Annual Fund giving levels are as follows:

Brick Patrons           $20k+

Brick Builders          $15k+

Brick Sustainers      $10k+

Brick Benefactors   $5k+

1940 Club*               $1940+

Brick Supporters     $1k+

Brick Donors     Gifts up to $999
