Annual FundSIXTY NINE YEARS OF GREAT BEGINNINGS
There is no school in New York City where tuition covers everything. In order to maintain the excellence of our program, we look to you, parents past and present, as well as alumni and friends to help us in this effort toward sound financial management.
YOU CAN DECIDE HOW YOUR MONEY IS USED
The Special Fund. The Special Fund provides the Brick Church School with the services of a school psychologist, a language therapist, learning specialist, three teachers per class in the classes larger than 10 students, faculty longevity increases and bonuses, and special equipment such as computers. It also supplements the budget for direct financial aid awards. This is an unrestricted fund.
The Paul Austin Wolfe Scholarship Fund. The income from this endowment fund, established in 1975, named for the founder of The Brick Church School, provides scholarships for children at the school. This year 14 percent of our children received financial aid.
The Faculty Fund. This permanent endowment generates income to increase faculty compensation
beyond what tuition can cover in order to continue to recruit and retain talented teachers.
Faculty Retirement Fund. This fund provides the teachers with improved retirement benefits.
The Lydia Spinelli Fund for Professional Development. This fund provides money for research grants, travel and study, and pays for tuition and other costs of courses, conferences and workshops on the latest developments in Early Childhood Education. In doing this, the fund further enhances the school’s appeal to present and future faculty and helps make it an even more exciting and stimulating place to learn.
EACH GIFT IS APPRECIATED
Thank you for your past generosity. Last year $259,374 was contributed to the Special Fund, $160,596 was contributed to The Faculty Fund and a total of $29,741 was contributed to the PAW Scholarship Fund, the Retirement Fund and the Spinelli Professional Development Fund. In addition auction proceeds and contributions totalling $758,279 went to the construction of a new art studio.
Give what you can; every gift is appreciated.
LEADERSHIP GIVING
The Brick Church School is particularly grateful to those individuals who make leadership level contributions. A leadership gift is an individual contribution or a combination of an individual and a corporate matching gift received in the same year.
